OK Y'all.  I know you have been PATIENTLY awaiting the WODS for the challenge.

Scaled workouts will not move on to the final WOD of the day (top 5 men and women AND Top 3 teams)

Team Score will be a total of ALL times from the team members in the RX Division for all wods... Scaled teams will not place as high as RX teams.

The FINAL WOD will be announced at the competition.  The FINAL Wod is more technical for both TEAM and INDIVIDUAL.

Our goal is to have heats run every 10 minutes for BOTH WOD 1 and WOD 2.  The Floater WOD can be completed at ANY time before the end of WOD 2.

Event Registration will begin at 8 AM and run until 9:00 AM.  At 9:00 AM we will begin the athlete meeting reviewing standards and the such.

We will begin the first heat at 0930 and plan to run the first event for two hours and the second event will start at 11:30.  Our GOAL is to have the events done by 1:30 PM so we can start the final WOD at 2:00 and be wrapped up by 3:30 to be celebrating at our "after event" at Groggs by 4:00-5:00 and all have dinner and good times together!!!

Here they are (standards and videos posted later this week and reviewed at the athletes meeting on Saturday)

Wod 1:   RX Division:

5-4-3-2-1 Deadlift (215/155)

Burpee onto Plate

Mandatory one minute rest

9-5-3 Thrusters (115/75)

Chest to Bar Pull-up (men)/Pull-up (women)

Post total Time

Scaled Division/Masters   If you choose to scale below this level, then people who perform at the weights listed below will score higher than those who choose less weight.

Deadlift at 185/135

Thrusters at 85/55

Pull-ups for men (if possible)

Jumping Pull-ups for women (standards to be discussed)

WOD 2:

Total time 7:00
Buy-in 400 Meter Run
then Complete max total pounds of Ground to Overhead with remaining time Athletes can choose weight as long as for RX- Men are at a minimum of 115 lbs or above Women are at a minimum of 75 lbs and above

You may only choose one weight to use for this workout. We will not allow changing of weights once the workout starts.

400 meter time does not have any score in this event a it is simply a buy in. Post total lbs lifted (in other words, rep times weight)

We do NOT care if you snatch, clean and jerk, split jerk etc.  What we DO care about is full extension and feet together before bar comes down from the top.  And it MUST be pulled from the ground EACH rep in order for it to count.

This workout is designed to test your power output curve.

Scaled Division:

Men you may only go up to 105 lbs

Women, you may only go up to 65 lbs

Floater WOD:

In 5 minutes complete the following:
500 m max effort row for time
Max effort Double Unders

Each is scored separately and then totalled for an aggregate score into the final tally.

If you score 5th in the row and 2nd on the double unders, your total aggregate score would be 7. As an example.

Scaled Division, You will do "Max Effort Tuck Jumps" in place of the double Unders...

The final wod WILL be set up differently.  The TEAM event for the FINAL WOD... will run in a "Caterpillar fashion" and the final event for top 5 men and women will have more technical skills and advanced movements.

More to Come.  BUT for now... have fun playing with these WODS.  They are burners!!

No, that’s alright. I’ll stay RX. Thanks!

Would you like me to change you? :) You can compete in whatever division you like… There really isn’t a “Masters” division.. I put that as an option for those who might want to think of themselves as a “master” but really it just comes down to.. Ability :)

Kb_avatar_small

I am currently signed up for mens RX, but will be competing in the master’s. Do I need to change to the scaled division?

Imag0011 Coach_overlay_ribbon

max reps during remaining time! :) Good question Shay!! Keep them coming… doing the videos tomorrow.. I tried to get them done tonight.. but that didn’t work out too well.. sorry :(

Kb_avatar_small

Is it best single attempt for double unders (unbroken) or as many double unders as you can do in the allotted time?

Imag0011 Coach_overlay_ribbon

TEAM Wods got posted below this one instead of above… Check them out… Sorry guys..

Imag0011 Coach_overlay_ribbon

Jeff… we won’t turn anyone away from this event realistically.. although we ARE capped out on the TEAM portion.

Avatar_jeffsherman

What’s the cutoff again for individual registration?

Imag0011 Coach_overlay_ribbon

lol No problem Jon. I totally understand.. Like I said, the Wods will still remain the same, however I have a solution in mind I will run by the head judges tomorrow to make it a little more fun for them :) I’ll post the solution in the next day or two! Thanks for the patience.. this is a HUGE event and we want everyone to have fun… truly..

Thanks. Apparently I was writing my comment as you posted your last. We’ll be patient and hope for a solution that will make everyone happy.

Here’s the problem: the reason our athletes wanted to be on a team is so they can work together and push each other. If you split them up they are now individuals competing separately to get a team score. This has already upset many of our people. We’re all for the unkown and unknowable, but there has to be some way to make at least one of the wods an actual TEAM WOD. Maybe make the first one a chipper. I don’t think that would slow things down that much. We signed up 3 TEAMS to compete in TEAM WODS not as individuals. Hope you’ll reconsider.

Imag0011 Coach_overlay_ribbon

Hmmm as a team the whole team would be then classified as scaled… I am still considering a different option on the TEAM stuff… that may make it even better… Give me a day or so to really chew on it. We discussed it (the head judges) and thought this might be the best way to go.. but I am seeing a new solution… the WODS will still be the same, but I am thinking of doing something different now that you bring this up… I’ll have more details tomorrow! Teams.. can you be patient for one more day? The workouts WILL stay the same for you, but there might be a twist coming

Avatar_jeffsherman

Hi Kevin. If a member of one of the competing teams can’t complete the 9 5 3 of the pull-ups (for women), what does that do to that team? Push them into being “scaled”, disqualify, dnf?

Thanks for the information.

Imag0011 Coach_overlay_ribbon

Did that even help Jon? LOL

Imag0011 Coach_overlay_ribbon

Correct Jon. We will run heats as two teams at a time. This will mimic closely what the “opens” were like last year at the CF games. the TOTAL of ALL athletes on the team will become the score for the team. It was too much to set out different events with the number of competitors showing up and time commitments… In order to finish BOTH team AND individuals, we decided this was the most efficient way :) Makes it even more challenging AND everyone gets to workout three times… Thanks for the question and Clarification… the FINAL Wod will be done in a different fashion than the heat WODs

Imag0011 Coach_overlay_ribbon

The Floater WOD will START with the Row for ALL athletes and run into the Double Unders. Sorry for not clarifying. This ensures all scores are created equal :)

Am I reading this right? Are you going to have all the Team athletes compete as Individuals for the first three WODs?
